Letter from the Principal

“You can’t have a perfect day without doing something for someone who’ll never be able to repay you.”—Z. Zigler

January 5, 2009

Dear Parent/Guardian:

I trust that everyone had a well rested break and am happy to see all the smiling faces as we enter a new year! The theme for January is “perseverance” and we will be addressing this theme in many ways, from learning about the accomplishments of Martin Luther King, Jr. to taking the 3rd and 4th grade ELA state assessments. The word of the week is “resolutions”. As we begin a new year, it’s a great time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished and what our goals will be for this year.

Attached is our student of the week list for this week! Congratulations to all the students for their hard work! Thank you to all the families for joining us at the morning program and showing your support.

Just a few other reminders for this week:

Monday, January 5th:

·         Morning Meeting: Kwanzaa celebration

Thursday, January 8th:

·         Building Level Team Meeting

·         PTSA meeting (7 p.m., Elementary School)

 Friday, January 9th:

·         Morning Meeting: 3 Kings Day celebration

January 13-15th: grades 3 and 4 ELA state assessments

Have a wonderful and safe week!

Natasha Shea, Principal
